To be honest, I almost lost my hat to some major wind gusts while shooting these photos (…and my girl Grace probably almost lost her fingers snapping these pics in the freezing cold #TrueFriend). But after receiving this hat from Scala, I just couldn’t wait another day to wear it and decided that holding onto my hat while running through the streets of Little Italy on the way to grab coffee with my gals was worth it 😉
I’ve never considered myself a hat person, other than the Villanova baseball cap I occasionally throw on over the weekend when I’m dealing with second day hair; but I’ve loved the floppy hat style for a while and decided it was time to step out of my comfort zone and give it a try myself. Now, I’m obsessed. I love how this simple black hat takes this chunky sweater and ripped jeans look to the next level, making it chic and stylish instead of just easy and comfortable.
I’m all about finding pieces that bring that extra somethin’-somethin’ to an otherwise standard outfit. Leather jackets, denim vests, and fun sunglasses have been my go-tos in the past when I want to add some interest to a look, but from now on, I’m going to be all about the hats to add some drama, fun, and spunk to my looks.
The next hat trend on my list to try is the beret. I doubt I’ll ever be able to rock a beret like my lovely friend Audra, but I will try my darndest! I’m loving this studded beret from TopShop and this classic white from Anthropologie.
Are you a hat-lover or do you prefer to keep it bare up there? If you’ve been rocking hats for a while, let me know which hat I have to try next!
