At-Home Spa Day with Emjoi

IMG_3372

Has spring finally sprung? Don’t want to jinx it, but I did (possibly prematurely) wear sandals for the first time last weekend. Spring cleaning doesn’t just mean sprucing up our homes and apartments, it’s also a great time of year to give our bodies a little TLC too. And what better way to complete the spring cleaning process than an at-home spa session?

I recently tried out a couple of products from Emjoi. The Emjoi Epi Slim is great for making sure all of those areas that spent winter in hiding are now ready to see the world again (y’all know what I’m talking about). It’s made for delicate skin, so it’s less painful than tweezers and other forms of hair removal.

I also tried the Emjoi Micro Pedi, which is just what my feet needed after spending months stuck in boots and Nike sneakers. The Micro Pedi is small and portable so it easily fits in my shoebox bedroom and even in my bag when I’m traveling.

I’m always looking for ways to save money, while also enjoying the finer things in life, so these Emjoi products were the perfect way to feel pampered without my wallet feeling the weight of a day at the spa.

What’s your favorite way to pamper yourself?

Tatum

Thanks to Emjoi for partnering with me on the post.

Beating the Heat with Irresistible Me

Beating the Heat with Irresistible Me | The Pace

Let me be the millionth person to say, this heat is out of control. Aside from the hiding out in my air conditioned bedroom or sweating it out on the streets of Manhattan, this humidity is doing quite a number to my usually straight and fairly manageable hair.

These high temps brought the perfect opportunity to test out Irresistible Me’s professional hair straightener. I usually use straighteners before going out to quickly touch up my hair when I want a more polished look. But this humidity brings another challenge to deal with: frizz. frizz. frizz.

I styled my hair with Irresistible Me’s Diamond Hair Styler and ventured out into New York’s 100 degree heat index to put the product to the test. Although after a few hours my strands were no longer completely pin straight, my hair retained the general style and frizz was kept to a minimum.

My hair is super thin and naturally fairly straight, so I don’t use a straightener on the regular, but I’m excited to keep experimenting with this styler to see what other hair-battles it will fight by my side!

So maybe with a few (hundred) fans and the Diamond Hair Styler, I might just survive this heat wave 😉

Give ‘Em a Hand

These winter months are full of beautiful snowfalls, comfy sweaters, and cozy nights by the fire. But winter can also be very brutal on our bodies, with our hands taking an especially tough beating. Our hands are constantly working to serve us and in the process, get whipped by the cold air and dried out from constant washing. As much as our hands do for us, it’s important that we keep them feeling and looking their best. After all, your hand is the first impression you give when meeting someone new! Today, I’m sharing some of my favorite products to keep my hands at their best.

Skin care and beauty products for hands that look and feel great!

Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream is a lifesaver in the winter. My hands get extremely dry and cracked in the cold months (sometimes, they even bleed!) so I need lotion that I know will protect my skin from the winter chill. Cetaphil gives my dry skin both immediate and long-lasting relief. I love this travel size so I can take it with me on the go!

I am obsessing over this nail color this season. It reminds of me of what Elsa from Frozen would wear 😉 The best part? Home Run by Pure ICE is less than $2 at Walmart. It glides on clump-free and is just as long lasting as other more expensive polishes. #Score

Don’t forget to warm up your hands with a hot cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. Biscoff cookies are the perfect compliment to your favorite hot beverage. Enjoy two cookies for under 150 calories with all natural, vegan ingredients. It’s a treat you don’t have to feel guilty about 😉

Treating our hands right, especially during winter is crucial to feeling and looking our best! So go ahead and give ’em a hand with the right skin care and beauty products this season.

Easy Holiday Beauty Look

Christmas is finally here, and I couldn’t be more excited! My plans for this holiday look a little bit like this…family, food, drinks, and repeat. Oh, and all to the tune of my favorite Christmas music (that has been playing since Thanksgiving!)

The holidays are a time for family and thankfulness, not a time to spend hours in front of the mirror. That’s why having an easy holiday beauty routine is key. Today, I am sharing a simple and festive beauty look perfect for all of your holiday events.

I started with my usual layer of powder foundation. For the eyes, I applied a gold shimmery shadow to my whole lid, used a white shimmery shadow under the brow and on the corners of my eyes, and used a silver shadow for the eye crease.

Next, I used Rimmel London’s Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kahal Eyeliner. I am obsessed with this eyeliner. It glides on effortlessly and looks fantastic. Plus, a waterproof eyeliner is longer-lasting than other liners, which is perfect for days filled with holiday events.

I applied two coats of mascara (because lashes are a girls best friend 😉 ) and brushed a cranberry blush on my cheeks.

For the lip, I used NYC’s Expert Last Lip Color in Sugar Plum. Let’s talk about this lipstick for sec…first of all, it smells amazing. Second, I am in love with the color. It makes the perfect subtle statement. Third, it’s only $1.99 (Merry Christmas!)

To finish off the look, I used EcoTools Sleek and Shine Finisher Hair Brush to brush my hair into a simple ponytail. This took about 10 seconds and left my hair feeling silky and smooth.

I’d love to know what your holiday beauty looks are this year! Share them with me below!
